With its disciplinary development as a focus,this university lays adequate stress on educational research,theoretical research and applied research.From 1988 through 2002,this university has succeeded in bidding for more than 20 projects at the national level sponsored by the National Sciences Funds and the National Philosophy & Social Sciences Funds,over 20 projects at the ministerial level by the Humanities & Social Sciences Funds,the Provincial Science & Technology Project and the Provincial Social Sciences Project.Within the same time period,more than 10.000 academic papers or treatises by the staff have been published,of which nearly 170 academic papers got quoted by such authoritative indexes as SCI,EI and ESTP,and many projects were awarded by Province and the Ministry of Education .
